15-Year-Old Suing Parents Who Set Up CCTV To Stop Him Masturbating

A teenager is intending to sue his parents after they installed CCTV cameras in his bedroom and bathroom to stop him from masturbating.

The 15-year-old boy from Alaska said that his parents set up security cameras in his bedroom and bathroom after his dad caught him masturbating.

Taking to social media, Reddit legal advice forum, the boy describes his father as ‘embarrassing’ and emphasized that he feels his privacy is being violated.

The boy, anonymous, wrote:

“I’m 15 and think I should be allowed to touch my own body. This is embarrassing and destroys my privacy, please help.”

He also revealed that his father caught him masturbating earlier this month.

He wrote:

“My dad barged in without knocking and started screaming at me. He and my mom then sat me down and told me I’m not allowed to touch myself.”

He also said his parent are against any sexual activity before marriage, and they had even prevented him from taking part in sex education classes in school. This left him to learn ‘things’ on the internet.

Though the teen had promised his parent he won’t masturbate again, he said that he feels like his assurance wasn’t good enough for them.

He found an Amazon package in his home only to discover it was indoor security cameras inside it, the teenager explained.

The teenager wrote:

“I asked my dad and he said they are putting them [cameras] in my room and bathroom so they can monitor and make sure I’m not masturbating.”

He added:

“I said that wasn’t okay, and he said that I agreed to not masturbate and this is holding me to the agreement.”

The teen’s parents told him that they’d check the camera every day to ensure he didn’t dare to masturbate.

Fellow Reddit users told the boy to talk to another adult concerning the issue, emphasizing that such parents’ behaviors are unacceptable. One user said parents’ actions to install CCTV cameras were “extremely inappropriate.”

One person wrote:

“Regardless of whether or not you’re masturbating (which is completely normal), you need to have a reasonable amount of privacy while you’re using the bathroom and changing.”

Another added:

“However you feel comfortable pursuing this, please realize that you are a normal kid, exhibiting normal, natural, and healthy behaviors.”

The teen also posted an updated post titled, ‘confronted dad about cameras being put in my room and it got way worse.’

Later both posts, the updated and original, were deleted, and it’s not known whether the cameras were removed from the boy’s room or what happened regarding the situation.
