Hubert Zitt, a German professor, is also a huge Star Wars fan. So much so that he is popular for giving lectures on Star Trek and Star Wars.
But he has taken his love for the popular franchise to the next level by painting the Zweibruck Observatory of the Natural Science Association into a giant R2-D2.
The best thing about it – the results are spectacular.
After setting out to do this mission, he completed it in September of 2018. However, he had help from a couple of people. One of them was his father-in-law Horst Helle, a master painter and several students.
So good was the outcome that Star Wars fans were truly impressed, including a Star Wars actor, Mark Hamill, who posted a treat about it.
Certainly, there have been instances where Star Wars fans have shown their love for the franchise in similarly bold ways. In fact, another observatory was turned into an R2-D2 back in 2010.
Although now more popularly known as a Star Wars fan, Zitt started out in electrotechnology and is currently a tenured professor at Zweibrucken, a University of Applied Sciences.
This is not the first time he has gotten attention for his overt dedication to this popular sci-fi series. He is considered a Global Top Speaker on Star Trek. He has also traveled considerably to give lectures about the franchise.
He has even gone on to teach on the 'The Physics of Star Trek’ in the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio in Texas. He has also written a book, 'Star Trek in Germany’, which he has co-authored with the son of a Star Trek inventor Gene Roddenberry.
At the moment, a giant R2-D2 stands guard over the university. But for this hardcore and outspoken Star Wars fan, a bigger mission is probably in the pipeline.
We should not be surprised if in the not so distant future another Star Wars character joins R2-D2.
The video shared on social media showed the extent of animal distress as the heartless bullfighter killed the bull.
Bullfighting in Spain is proceeded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport. But the surprising thing is that no statistics on bull injuries are kept.
Let’s hope that Gervais awareness platform will draw more attention from the public and help influence a less brutal life to bull’s population.
