James Corden has just announced the Garvin and Stacey TV comedy series is set to return as a one-off Christmas special.

Garvin and Stacey will be back on our screens, comes Christmas. The reunion has been announced and confirmed by Corden.
James Corden revealed that he and his co-writer Ruth Jones had been ‘keeping this as a secret for a while,’ and are excited to share this good news with you.
He said, on a Twitter post, that the TV show will return as a form of a Christmas special episode, despite its last episode of the sitcom airing nine years ago.
Gavin and Stacey debuted on the BBC in May 2007 and ran for three seasons. In all, there were 20 episodes, including specials, with the final episode airing in the U.K. on January 1, 2010.
The 2010 New Year’s Day finale recorded over 10.3 million viewers.
Addressing his 10.5 million Twitter followers, Corden shared a post titled, ‘Christians Special 2019,’ along with a caption, ‘see you on Christians Day.’
Fans were so excited about Corden announcement, and the post attracted thousands of likes and comments in just a few minutes.
Some of the fans even shared GIFs from the much-beloved British sitcom to express their excitement on the news.
The sitcom featured Mathew Horne, Joanna Page, Ruth Jones, and James Corden, just to mention a few, as the starring. The show was a breakthrough hit for BBC Three.
It involved Gavin, a boy from Essex, and Stacey, a girl from Barry, who used to talk over the phone every day before they even met.
The two then fell in love with each other, got married, and explored their relationship with their family and friends.
The show won several awards including two Baftas, four British Comedy awards, and a National Television award.
Speaking to BBC, Corden and Jones, said:
“Over the last ten years, we’ve talked a lot about Gavin & Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like. And so in secret, we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special.”
